Gazzeted in 1932 and formally established in 1993, Kibale National Park forms a continuous forest with Queen Elizabeth National Park creating a 180km wildlife corridor.
Kibale National Park is renowned as the home of up to 1500 chimpanzees of the 4950 that call Uganda home making it the best chimpanzee safari destination in the country. The park is also home to other 12 primate species namely red-tailed monkeys, black & white colobus monkeys, olive-baboon, L’hoest monkeys, vervet monkeys, blue monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, Uganda red colobus and pottos.
