Best time to do chimpanzee trekking in Uganda

However it is important to note that the temperatures of Uganda are not stable since the country lies along the equator therefore expect the weather to changes any time. The average temperature of the country is about 24 degrees Celsius but the lowland areas are warmer than the mountainous areas. The Pearl of Africa receives rains in two seasons of the year, this is during the months of April-May and October-November.
There are also two dry seasons in a year and this occurs in the months of December to full end of February and June to early October. This is as well the peak season when many tourists are flooding the country.
The best time to go chimpanzee trekking in Uganda is during the dry season in the months of April to early October when there is little rain expected to interact the trekking exercise. And you don’t want encounter the overcrowding in different national parks of Uganda, then consider travelling in the wet season. However, it’s important to know that at this time of the year Uganda receives heavy rainfalls although it doesn’t rain the whole day.

Guidelines or rules to follow while chimpanzee trekking in Uganda
- You are not allowed to trek if you are sick because you may infect the animals. Please keep a safe distance of about 8km from the chimpanzees to avoid contact with them.
- Avoid eating close to the chimpanzee, they might grab all the food from you and injure you.
- Flash photographs are not allowed as well as imitating chimpanzees.
