Detailed itinenary

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, meet and greet with the company representative or driver guide, who takes you through your 3 days Rwanda gorilla tour. Later drive to one of the nearest restaurants with in Kigali city for lunch and later begin a transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri. On arrival at the park, check in at your booked lodge and relax, enjoy dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Dian Fossey Hike

Wake up for an early breakfast at the lodge, get ready with your packed lunch and head out head to the park headquarters for a briefing about the gorilla activity in Volcanoes National Park. Later, transfer to starting point to search for the gorilla family to track. Gorilla tracking in Rwanda is not as strenuous as it is in Uganda. You trek as you hike penetrating into the forest and once you locate a gorilla family, enjoy staying with them for an hour as you learn more about their interesting lifestyle, take photos and return to your lodge. Get lunch plus small nap and if time allows in the evening, head out for a fantastic hike to the Dian Fossey grave. This hike offers you an insight about her efforts in the conservation of the endangered mountain gorillas and how she was killed by poachers trying to save the life of the gorillas.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Kigali for a City tour

Wake up for your delicious leisure breakfast at the lodge, then check out and join your driver for a transfer to Kigali. On arrival, head out for Kigali for a City Tour that takes you to experience Kigali Genocide Memorial at Gisozi, here you learn more about the remains of hundreds of thousands of the victims of the Rwanda genocide of 1994 who were placed. The tour allows you to experience different exhibitions of the building to learn more about the notorious genocide.

The city tour also takes you visit one of the Artisan markets and experience the locally made craft materials as well as other interesting items like clothes of the African print and designs as you interract with the local people. You can get yourself a souvenir here for remembrance of the trip. After the awesome experience in the city, your driver guide drops you at your place of residence or at the airport to catch up with scheduled flight back home. Meal plan: Breakfast and lunch.
